Broken ancle in his arm...

...turned out to be a broken elbow. 4 1/2 hours in the ER this morning and he's as good as new. Almost!

They triaged him and then sent us to radiology. They took 5 x-rays and sent us back to ER. First the ER doc looked at the rays and he thought he saw a fracture, but the x-rays weren't great. Well, it hurt BBB a great deal to turn his hand and arm on the radiology table so that's why. Poor boy, he tried his hardest without crying once.
The radiologist came, and he wasn't sure either. So they sent for the Orthopedic surgeon, who WAS sure it was a fracture. He needed more x-rays though, to decide whether BBB needed surgery or not, but thank goodness it was a class 1 break, and all he got was a sling. On the 10th we go back to get a cast that he will wear for 3-4 weeks. I told him he will be good as gold when Halloween comes around.

BUT, they did have to drug him pretty good to get the next set of x-rays and I was locked outside the room. I could tell through the door that it was painful, but he handled it very well. Must take it from MY side of the family!!! ;)

He is chipper and full of energy, so tomorrow he goes back to school. The doctor cleared him.
