Skyline from our Hotel

This is what we call the 'Orange Tower".  It's located in central Juffair, which is the neighborhood that houses base, school and our hotel.  We can find all of them if we can find the Orange Tower.  We have contests in the car who can find it first.  When you see it you have to belt out: I SEE THE ORANGE TOWER!!!  To our surprise, it has a big ole sign above the entrance that reads: Orange Tower.
This is the Grand Mosque of Manama.  It's beautiful (and they have good quality speakers which is a huge bonus!!). Right behind it is a huge palace.  I have yet to find out who lives in it.  Could it be the king??? Beyond that is Adliya, the neighborhood we chose to settle in.
Between us and the high rises is old town Manama with the souq and the narrow streets and allies of the old days.  NW winds today means that there is a lot of sand in the air coming from Saudi Arabia.  You aren't able to see that far then, but it dries up the air and we only had 50% humidity today.  YAY!  That makes an actual 107 degrees only feel like 117 instead of 135!  Blessed are the NW winds!
We will miss our pool dearly.  We loved it from the first night we saw it when Mr Kevs had us over for some sparkling wine and a dip. We have made a lot of friends in that pool.  Good times...good times...  :D
