Was on the road for quite a while yesterday. One of our vehicles had a transmission problem, so we were returning to our base at a very slow rate... we passed a local who was on the side of the road because his engine had quit working. He was quite scared when we pulled over and started talking with him. It was almost sunset, and a sand storm was coming. It was easy to determine that he wasn't a threat, and I asked him if we could he could use a tow to town. We hooked him up to the middle HMMWV in our convoy and towed him 20miles to an Iraqi Police checkpoint, so he could call a friend to pick him up.
